The real street music of current Tanzania is Singeli, a most amazing mix of creative digital production, ultra speed african drumming, provoking rap and pure energy. The mixtape grasps Singeli in its context - as street dance jams, as driving music, unofficial mp3s distributed outside big media or - as some Singeli haters think - as possession by malevolent spirits. All music was sourced on the spot from Tanzanian street vendors, teenage fans, producers, DJs and radio presenters.
